Transitional Outfit – Summer To Fall Dress

Transitional outfit – it’s all I will be talking about today. Since we are in the last days of summer, I am so excited about today’s post featuring an adorable and budget-friendly outfit. We are just a little over a month away from the official start of fall, which makes me sad because I love summer and I think it was kind of short this year. I don’t consider this a big deal because hopefully our plans to spend December in Brazil will work out well and I will have then kind of a second round of my favorite season.

In today’s post, I am sharing a stylish outfit that can be a great transition look between seasons. Well, If you have not shopped at Walmart lately, you are missing out. They have definitely stepped it up in the fashion world, yet still delivering everyday low prices.

A Cute & Affordable Summer To Fall Transitional Outfit

I am wearing a size x-small dress which has an oversized fit. Personally, I love the color as it has a summer vibe to it and yet it reminds me of the fall yellow mustard-colored leaves that will soon start to fall from the trees. I also love the flowy silhouette, but if you want to give it more shape, just add a belt like I did and it will look wonderful as well. As versatile as it is, you can wear this dress as a transitional piece but also as a cover-up for your swimwear and that is why I am so happy to share such cute and affordable piece!

I feel like this dress will become my uniform for the remaining days of summer and beginning of fall! As much as I love saving my money for other activities, I love finding good deals even more! After all, that’s the main reason I started Marie Avenue!

I am just thrilled to share with you items I’ve found at Walmart and other stores that can save you a few dollars and yet make you look great through the next season. I bet you didn’t even think to check Walmart.com for your fall fashion needs, right?! Neither did I until I found this dress for under $30 and certainly I have passed by the Walmart clothing department hundreds of times and went to its online store even more for everything that I ever needed but never took the time to stop by the women’s section and check what they have.  

Honestly, I was surprised at how great this dress looks and feels because the price tag is so low! As I mentioned before I’m wearing a size x-small but, I normally order a size small in juniors. I can’t be any happier, knowing that Walmart has been improving their fashion department (as the whole store as well) to provide clothing that fits someone of my stature. So from now on you will see a few posts here and there that may contain one or two(or more) items bought at Walmart that after styled correctly, you would have never known how much it cost.

I think I will collect more dresses like this for our mentioned trip to my home country. I can’t think of any other piece of clothing that would work so well in the humid and hot climate of Brazil. I am excited to take this dress with me on our vacation. I think it has the perfect color, fabric, and style to rock at the amazing beaches of Salvador, at an exotic tropical vacation along with my family and of course, I will take lots of pictures and keep you guys updated. I always enjoy coming home and recapping our adventurous family trips.

As for the jacket, I am sad to say that the exact same one is sold out but, I have linked it here, here and here three options to satisfy any budget. I consider the jean jacket a staple. In my opinion, it is something that you definitely should have in your wardrobe as it never goes out of style and fits well pretty much anything that you can think of.

As you can see the jacket I am wearing is a little distressed and if you like this style you will probably love the first option I listed above from Rachel Parcell as it resembles a lot the one I have in the pictures for having some distress and a similar color. They are available from 2x-Small to 2x-Large and it’s certainly something you should add to your Fall wardrobe! 

As for the shoes I have listed here, there are four espadrille wedge-heels for you to choose from, prices that range from $30 to $99. I found this pair of wedges that might be the most comfortable high heel shoes I have worn in a while. Although it has approximately 3.25 inches heels, it doesn’t impair your balance when you walk or make you feel uncomfortable. They are made of faux-suede and only available in cognac color, the same one I have in the pictures that are more like a brown rue. They are super flattering and I love that they make your legs look so long!

The best part is that they are under $30! If you have been following me for a while you may know that I am obsessed with shoes, so finding good deals like this is very important to me. I almost forgot to mention that they are very lite and you will not feel like you’re carrying bricks. Ha! You can check the other three options of shoes here, here and here.

My clear tote is an Amazon find and it’s a great quality dupe of the Staud Shirley Bag. You can find it available in white, black, beige and brown. It comes with an inner purse that is removable so you can wear it within any other bag you may have. Although it seems small it allows me to fit all my items with no problem. It’s large enough to stash my phone, wallet, lipgloss and lots of other items with plenty of space.

I am always on the hunt for a great bag. My husband always complains that I have too many but to be honest I love having options that will fit my needs and looks and this one is that type of bag that can fit any style from dressy to casual and from day to night. Clear and elegant, this bag is a staple that you can wear all year long with the guarantee that you will always hear a compliment wherever you go.

The hard part for me it is not include this tote in every single outfit I plan as I am so obsessed with it. My idea of a great bag is something that holds everything you need and it also looks stylish and this bag checks out these requirements easily.

Lastly, the leopard belt is from Target and you can find it here. I think adding this belt to the dress gave it dimension and brought to it the fall trend with the animal print, something will be tremendously popular next season.
