Easy and Affordable Steps To a Beautiful Skin
It took me a while to curate my simple and affordable skincare routine for youthful-looking skin. I have to say that over the past year I have been more focused than ever on achieving my dream skin. The results from investing in skincare are visible and I couldn’t be any happier!
As a working mother, sometimes I feel so defeated by all the things that accumulate during the day that keeping up with a beauty routine is just too much to achieve. Therefore, I’m all about quick and easy regimes. A youthful, glowing skin really comes down to consistency and developing a regime that works for you!
For instance, if I keep my beauty products in my makeup room I’d probably end up lacking the already mentioned consistency. That said, to facilitate that I have all my beauty products in a big jewelry box strategically placed beside my bed. Keeping them at the reach of my hands reminds me that layering my beauty products onto my skin must be the first thing of my day and the last thing before bed.
Why You Should Never Wash Your Face With Hot Water?
I start my morning by washing my face after bath with the Pixy Milk Cleanser or CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser for Normal to Dry Skinerave Cleanser (pay close attention when buying it so you can have the right option for your skin type). Keep in mind that you should never wash your face while showering. Hot temperatures can cause lots of damage to your skin. The skin on your face is extremely delicate and is made of fine blood vessels. It is worth mentioning that there are more pores on your facial skin than anywhere else on your body. All these factors make your skin extremely vulnerable to certain temperatures.
I use the Pore-Reducing Toner by Paula’s Choice or the Pixi by Petra Collagen Tonic as the first step after washing my face. They are gentle to the skin and it really helps the following products of my beauty routine to be better absorbed by my skin.
After that, I apply the Cerave Vit-C serum. Vit- C is an essential step in any beauty routine. It not only helps to brighten your skin and fade dark spots but, it’s also an important ingredient against the aging process.
The next step is my spot treatment that consists of the Eye Repair Serum by Cerave or The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG and the Brightening Serum from Doterra layered only on the areas with dark spots.
Following the above, I use The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 that has the function of keeping your skin hydrated and maximizing the effectiveness of the moisturizer which is the next step. This is an optional step as the next product already contains Hyaluronic Acid but, I really love this product and like to use an extra layer of it.
Also by The Ordinary, I use the Natural Moisturizing Factor + HA. Its formula offers non-greasy hydration that acts as a supplement to a natural moisturizing. It contains 11 amino acids, phospholipids, alpha/beta/gamma fatty acids, triglycerides, sterols and sterol esters, glycerin, ceramide precursors, urea, saccharides, sodium PCA, and hyaluronic acid, giving you immediate hydration and long-lasting results with continued use.
The last step is another essential component of a beauty routine, the sunscreen. It helps to lessen dark spots by protecting your skin when exposed to UVA and UVB rays. Also, it’s a great ingredient against aging as exposure to those rays increases the risk of skin cancer and accelerates signs of aging such as fine lines and deep wrinkles.
I use the Cetaphil Sheer Mineral Face Liquid Sunscreen SPF 50. It nourishes sensitive skin while providing 100% mineral active sun protection. It’s made of GENTLE FORMULA that Locks in moisture to hydrate and protect skin’s delicate microbiome.
Remember, UVA = Aging!
Remember, UVB = Bad Burns!
TIP: Check out The Ordinary Argireline Solution 10% that promises to improve the look of skin in areas prone to dynamic folds such as between eyes, forehead and crow’s feet, some call it the Botox in a bottle. I am currently using it and I will share my thoughts on this product soon.

Well, I hope these simple tips can help you to achieve healthy-looking skin but, I can’t stress enough about the importance of a CONSISTENT beauty routine. Do not expect results without putting a little bit of patience and persistence into the game. The first results may take up to three months to appear but, I promise if you keep up with this morning steps you will have perfect-looking skin soon than you think.
