Our Family Vacation Recap
I’m so excited to share our family vacation to Henderson! Tony, I, and the kids had a blast soaking up the sun and enjoying some warm temperatures. It was a great getaway that we all needed very much. We celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary in October but decided to postpone our trip to November due to work matters. At first, we thought of a staycation in Park City because it’s the location of our honeymoon. We looked into a few places to keep costs low but didn’t want to sacrifice any comfort either.

After a little bit of research, we decided to go the opposite way we had priorly planned and opted to see a place that I have dreamed of for quite some time, Henderson – Nevada. It was the best decision, as it’s not too far nor too close. It may sound weird that we decided to take the kids with us to our anniversary vacation but, in the time of Covid, our babysitter options (that we trust) became very tight. So the kids had to tag along and it was for the best. I would miss them anyways.

Have you ever decided to plan a trip with your family and suddenly had a pang of anxiety and fear when thinking about all the necessary planning? Tony and I have two kids, aged 3 and 6 years olds. I always joke that we are outnumbered which can present quite an obstacle when trying to keep everyone happy. We’ve learned over the years that there is only so much we can do to try to have a good time. We can certainly take precautionary steps to help us lessen the chaos, which usually works just fine. That’s why I love to plan vacations that are geared toward the chaotic bunch that I call our family.
Our Family Vacation To The Beautiful Henderson
Henderson has a vast number of hotels but I opted to stay at the Hilton Lake Las Vegas because of its beautiful landscape. Honestly, its location was quite hard to find especially at night but in the end, we got there just fine. Surprisingly the hotel was super quiet and had just a few guests despite the gorgeous architecture, location, amenities, and warm temperature of Nevada. Certainly, Covid-19 and the mandates in the state caused a lot of damage to the economy there.

Our room had an amazing view of the lake and it was right on (and I say that literally) the Lake Las Vegas. The patio opened to the gorgeous lake scape and it was almost like we were on a cruise and the entire room was floating on the water.

The Hotel
The hotel had the most exquisite landscape and the restaurant area makes you feel as if you are in a little Italy within Nevada. During summer you have musical bands playing on the stage located on the water, street market, and aquatic activities. The whole place offers different restaurants and stores, some of them were closed and I am unsure if because of the low season or the economic distress brought by the pandemic.

Complimentary to your stay, guests are free to use the hot tub at the spa and its sauna. The room was spacious and very well maintained and the staff was courteous and attentive.

Henderson offers a handful of possibilities when it comes to outdoor activities. Although it’s located only 30 minutes from Vegas, it has the Vibe of a small city with the amenities of Metropoles such as stores like Ulta, Target, etc.

BEST RESTAURANTES IN THE AREA
As for restaurants, the city has a vast range of them, from the well-known fast-food chains in the U.S. to more expensive ones such as Rodizio Grill, speaking of which if you are craving for steak this is certainly the best option in the area as for an authentic Brazilian BBQ. However, expect to spend over $100 for two adults plus 2 small kids buffets.
The best option in regards to Mexican food is Juan’s Flaming Fajitas. At our arrival, the restaurant seemed very packed however, our wait for a table was less than 15 minutes. The food was amazing and the service even better. My suggestion for a dish is the Flaming Fajita. Simply amazing!

WHAT I WORE TO OUR FAMILY VACATION
Anytime I pack for vacation I love to have a lot of swimsuit options. They are small and can be packed into small spaces of your luggage. I love to have different options when it comes to prints and styles. But I would say the key to any great swim look is finding something that you feel comfortable in. I’ve rounded up all my favorite swimsuits, outfits, and accessories that I took on the trip!
