7 Things To Do For A More Successful Life
Hey girls, I am here today to tell you how I am slowly changing my habits to achieve a stress-free routine. I will be talking to you about some simple things to do for a more successful life. When I say successful I don’t mean that I am going to teach you how to make lots of money and buy a mansion in Beverly Hills, which is what we automatically think of. In fact, I am trying to train my mind to disconnect this idea from the concept that you are only successful if you have a “fat bank account”. You are successful if you are raising your children to be a good man or woman, if you are happy with who you are and how you look no matter what, if you managed to set a goal (lose weight, finish school, help your community, etc) and you have achieved or you are right on the path to do it.
After reading some posts about what successful people do in everyday life I was surprised to find out that their daily activities were nothing tremendous, but included only little deeds, always divided into four categories; mental, physical, family and everything else (blog, work, business, etc). I will share here some of them combined with my own experience in life and I hope this will be enough to cheer you up.
THINGS TO DO FOR A MORE SUCCESSFUL LIFE LIST
1. Set Daily Goals
I learned recently that Keneth Chenault, the American Express CEO has an interesting habit of writing down three things he wants to accomplish the next day. Why? Because life happens and it’s easy to get distracted. Setting goals helps you to stay focused and to work only on what’s necessary to avoid the frustration of being unable to achieve what you had in mind. For example, if your goal is to clean the house, take the kids to a game or apply for a new job, be sure to write it down.
THINGS TO DO FOR A MORE SUCCESSFUL LIFE – Plan your day-
Right down a to-do list with a checkbox (it’s good for you to visualize your accomplishments). Start with the difficult tasks first. Include in your list to spend some time on activities with the kids and other family members (ask me later why you should include something so obvious to your list)
2. A Healthy Mind Starts with a Healthy Body – Exercise
“My body feels like crap but, in my mind, I feel so well”- said no one ever. If you feel constantly sick, have a lack of energy, your healthy mind will succumb to the state of your body soon or later and vice versa and this I learned the hard way.
Mind and body must be in perfect synchrony in order to work properly”- Lana Wariner (Marie Avenue Blog)
Part of my day to-dos lately is always entailing some form of activity. Of course, I have two little kids and there is no convenient way to go jogging somewhere with them (Marie would make this a very stressful adventure). Considering that my mornings are usually so busy I am forced to work out during the nights when the kids are in bed, which is on my list.
When you work out your body releases endorphins and promotes cell growth which is a natural medicine for ANXIETY and DEPRESSION. Since I have been exercising I am feeling much better and have kept these issues under control.

THINGS TO DO FOR A MORE SUCCESSFUL LIFE -Meditate-
Take at least 5 minutes to look into your inner being and hear some words of affirmation during your meditation. Consider this as a recalibration of your mind by ridding all of the negativity and taking in only what is good and contribute to your mental and physical balance and to achieve your goals in life.
3. Always Look For The Bright Side / Be Positive
Of course, life isn’t perfect for anyone. It’s true that we tend to think that the grass is (always) greener in your neighbor’s but, the truth is that he/she is also probably struggling with something that you would prefer not to. Another day I read a post of a girl complaining about the many stretch marks she got after giving birth to three babies and this made me think of all of the other women that would die to have those marks, plus she had a perfect flat stomach that many of us are working so hard to get.
It doesn’t help to focus only on the bad things. By Experience, I can assure you that if you take a great look into your life right now you will find some things that many other people out there are desperately crying for. See the bright side and focus only on that. Leave the dark side only for the bad Jedis. (lol)
You may have a few stretch marks and yet have that flat stomach that I am dreaming to have. You may be bad at math and a genius in art, writing, science, etc. You may not be rich but you have everything you need to live a good life. You may not be the popular girl in your school/job but you have someone to who you can come home to every night.
4. “Making Things Happen With The Power Of Your Mind is Called Faith” – Believe
A positive mind can have more positive results than you may think is possible. I am a total believer of THE SECRET. I think our minds are so powerful that definitely can create what we foolishly call miracles (if we only put our energy and positivity into visualizing what we can’t see just yet).
I do not know if you believe in God but, I do. He and I have been on better terms but still, I believe with no doubt that He exists and sent His Son to save our souls. Sometimes I really like to ponder on what Jesus used to say before every “miracle”. He never said “well, maybe this or that will happen”, “Maybe, I deserve that to happen”. He always said “AMEN” which is a Hebrew word for “so be it”. That is what I believe is the subject, in other words, of the book The Secret — faith. Jesus channeled his energy and positive thoughts with no doubts into making something happen even before it actually happened, this is the definition of faith.
So from now on, believe. Believe in yourself, believe in your dreams (and visualize them). Stop using excuses such as “but”,”maybe” or “No”. I am not a master in this believing technique, I am still learning and we can do it together.
5. Give Thanks / Pray
When you set your mind to be thankful for what you have you are designing a fort that will protect you from little things that can put you down and drive your energy into a negative thought. I am truly always thankful for the wonderful husband and kids I have but, I still have a lot to work on that area.
Take some time out during your day to enjoy yourself by watching a movie, playing games, visiting with friends, or playing with your kids. The important thing here is to relax and simply disconnect from Social Media. I have been working on staying away from my computers and my phone and on spending more quality time with Marie by watching Lady Bug and Cat Noir (best show ever…not really, but that’s okay. As long I am with my kids I am happy.)
7. Work on Small Improvements
Think of your professional goals. Do you want to go back to school, take some art classes, learn how to cook, how to sew or typing? Whatever it is, set this as a goal and go for it. It’s important to feel that you have accomplished something with your own hands, intelligence and efforts.
